Police say a 28-year-old man was shot to death Thursday in a crowded Bronx courtyard.
Police say they received a call at approximately 2 p.m. Thursday of a man shot at the McKinley Houses on East 161st Street.
They say the victim was shot in the head.
The victim's identity had not been released as of 10:30 p.m. Thursday.
Residents said the shooting happened while lots of people were outside.
"It makes me angry when you see that, because you got senior citizens that were sitting in the garden, you got children playing in the park, and you got people coming from all angles from the supermarket and everything, and all in broad daylight at 2 o'clock in the day," said Wallace Diamond of the McKinley Houses Tenants Association. "But thank God the police did respond. PSA 7 did respond immediately. For some reason or another, they were in the area. Plus, calls were made, and they responded immediately. We live very close to the PSA 7 over here, and we're thankful for the good work that they do. But we need our cameras."
No arrests have been made.
