After getting hit hard by Hurricane Sandy, a Howard Beach post office is back to sorting mail and selling stamps.
Post-Hurricane Sandy repairs took months after flooding damaged the building, which is located blocks from the water.
Branch Manager Vincent Zecca said it feels good to have employees and customers in Station B again.
"It took a while to get to this point," Zecca said. "People are coming back. The town is coming back. Most of the stores already rebuilt and reopened. We're just waiting for a few that are left. It's a good thing for the town. And it's a small little community over here. It's a good thing for the post office to come back."
The post office opens every day, except Sunday, at 9 a.m.
