A member of the New York Giants replaced his helmet with a Santa hat Tuesday and tried to spread a little holiday cheer to children affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Fullback Henry Hynoski helped deliver toys to children at P.S. 142 on the Lower East Side.

The toys were donated by Second Chance Toys, an organization that rescues and recycles slightly used plastic toys and donates them to disadvantaged kids.

"Any way I can give back and help out, it's just the right thing to do, and I'm just really happy and fortunate to have been asked to be able to do such a great thing," Hynoski said.

"A lot of our children are from homes where their parents didn't have money to buy them Christmas presents," said Karina Lynch-Graham of the Educational Alliance. "Maybe they lost some things because they couldn't go to work or they didn't have heat or hot water during the hurricane, and so it does impact them as a community. "So having an opportunity to get additional resources, especially during Christmas, is amazing."
