The search is on for a man who police say stabbed a young soccer coach to death in Manhattan early Sunday morning.

Investigators say 25-year-old Michael Jones was slashed on the neck and body.

Sources say his ear was cut off.

It happened just before 4:30 a.m. Sunday in front of the Levi's Store on West 14th Street in Chelsea.

According to published reports, surveillance video shows Jones and his attacker walking down 14th Street near Union Square.

The two are seen getting into an argument before the man attacks.

Police released surveillance video of a man walking away from the scene of the attack.

He's described as between the ages of 25 and 30 with his hair in a ponytail.

Jones worked as a coach for the New York Red Bulls youth soccer organization.
