Police were investigating whether a Saturday subway robbery of a teenage boy by a thief wielding a needle on the Upper West Side is connected to a pattern of similar attacks in the Bronx.
Sources say that a 14-year-old boy was robbed of his cell phone on a 1 train as it pulled into the West 86th Street station Saturday.
They say a man with a needle approached a 14-year-old-boy on the 1 train at West 86th Street yesterday and demanded the teen's cellphone.
The boy gave up the phone and was not hurt.
Sources tell NY1 the suspect in this case seems to match the description of 39-year-old Angel Anthony Cintron.
Cintron is wanted in connection with a series of robberies in the Bronx where some victims were threatened with a needle.
Investigators have not officially ruled the subway robbery as part of the pattern.
