A woman was killed Wednesday morning after being struck by a Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus in Queens.
The New York City Police Department says the Q44 bus was traveling southbound on Union in Flushing around 8:15 a.m. when the driver struck Meilan Jin, 22, as the bus was making a righthand turn onto Northern Boulevard.
Jin was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the MTA, the bus operator did not stop because he was unaware of the accident.
"I came outside after the accident, and I saw the, the woman she was dead," said one witness at the scene.
"The driving is excessive. You know the speeds that they drive here is unbelievable and I witness it all the time, accidents, every day," said another witness.
The bus was not in service at the time of the incident.
