A second victim has died from injuries sustained in last week's helicopter crash in the East River.

Helen Tamaki, 43, seen above on the far right, died at around 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Bellevue Hospital.

Her partner, Sonia Marra, died in the accident last week.

Federal officials said the helicopter was inspected just two days before the accident, and the chopper passed its most recent annual inspection.

The pilot told the NTSB he climbed 30 to 50 feet before losing control and hitting the river.

Part of the main rotor blade broke off, but most of the chopper was pulled out of the water and is being examined.

A final report on the crash is months away.
