The family of the woman killed in Tuesday's helicopter crash spoke out Friday.
Sonia Marra's father, Paul Nicholson, and her sisters released a statement thanking the New York City Police Department for its work in rescuing the other passengers from the East River.
They also called pilot Paul Dudley a family friend who acted bravely and thanked the medical staffs caring for their loved ones.
Nicholson, seen on the left in the above picture, was treated and released from NYU Medical Center while his wife Harriet and Marra's partner Helen Tamaki are both in critical condition at Bellevue.
Marra was in the city celebrating her 40th birthday when she was killed in the crash.
