New charges were filed against Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the alleged mastermind behind the September 11th attacks, through a military commission at Guantanamo Bay today.

His four alleged co-conspirators -- Muhammad Salih Mubarak Bin 'Attash, Ramzi Binalshibh, Ali Abdul Aziz Ali and Mustafa Ahmed Adam al Hawsawi -- were also charged.

Their charges include conspiracy, murder in violation of the law of war, attacking civilians, attacking civilian objects, intentionally causing serious bodily injury, destruction of property in violation of the law of war, hijacking aircraft and terrorism.

The five defendants were first charged by the military commissions in February 2008.

The charges were dismissed in January of last year when the Obama administration decided to try them in federal court in Manhattan.

In April, the Justice Department turned the case back over to the military commission following public outcry and a decision by Congress that prevents Guantanamo Bay detainees from being transferred to U.S. soil. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
