The two suspects in the beating death of an elderly store owner on Staten Island are now accused of second-degree murder after the medical examiner ruled the case a homicide.
Antoine Means, 35, and Sharon Montgomery, 49, were arrested last month.
Today they were arraigned on new charges including second-degree murder, robbery, burglary and assault.
Police say they attacked Joseph Naimo, 81, and his 75-year-old wife Linda, as they locked up their Tompkinsville store in January.
It is believed they made off with just $18.
Linda Naimo suffered a broken skull and died about three weeks later.
