Two people have been arrested in connection with the beating of an elderly Staten Island couple back in January.

Police say Antoine Means, 35, and Sharon Montgomery, 49, are charged with burglary, robbery and assault.

They are accused of attacking Joseph Naimo, 81, and his 75-year-old wife Linda as they locked up their Tompkinsvile store on January 23.

Investigators say the victims were repeatedly kicked and punched as their attackers demanded money.

The attackers fled after the couple's son came to help.

They made off with just $18.

Linda Naimo suffered a fractured skull and died about three weeks later. Her survivors believe she was murdered.

The medical examiner has not yet ruled whether her death was a homicide.
