An emergency medical technician who was previously accused of failing to help a dying pregnant woman has been arrested on shoplifting charges.
Police say Melissa Jackson, seen above, was arrested Monday after trying to steal $50 in cosmetics from a Wal-Mart store in Westbury, Long Island.
Jackson was charged with petit larceny and released.
The New York City Fire Department has suspended Jackson without pay for 30 days.
Jackson was charged with official misconduct after she and Jason Green, another EMT, were accused of failing to help Eutisha Rennix when she had an asthma attack at the Au Bon Pain restaurant where she worked.
Rennix and her unborn child died at the hospital.
Green was shot and killed in July outside a SoHo nightclub.
