Governor-elect Andrew Cuomo has filled three of his transition committees with many city politicians and officials.
The governor-elect announced today that his Public Safety Committee will include New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly.
Other members include former Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau, Long Island Congressman Peter King, former Brooklyn U.S. Attorney Zachary Carter, Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association President Pat Lynch and Manhattan Assemblyman Keith Wright.
The committee will recruit and recommend people for posts in public safety and law enforcement, including counterterrorism.
The Human Services and Housing committee will include City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, Queens Assemblywoman Gracie Meng and the governor-elect's former brother-in-law, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Cuomo's Environment, Energy and Recreation Committee will include Manhattan Senator-elect Adriano Espaillat.
Cuomo began piecing together his transition team on Thursday. It will be led by Lieutenant Governor-elect Robert Duffy, Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez and former State Comptroller Carl McCall.
