State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo is promising legal action against an Internet site popular with kids that's accused of tolerating child pornography.

Cuomo announced the move Thursday, after he says an undercover investigation showed Tagged.com puts kids at risk.

Among other accusations, his office says graphic images of children being sexually abused are readily available on the San Francisco-based site. It also says adults routinely engage in inapropriate and sexual communications with minors, and that sex offenders may have profiles there.

"Parents should ask their children tonight, I believe, 'Do you go to this site? Do you go to Tagged.com?' Parents have to ask and if you're as old as I am, I know its generational, you're not proficient on the technology you can ask the questions -- 'Are you going to this site?' This is a dangerous site for them to go to," Cuomo said.

The attorney general says the company let the images on despite its policy of cracking down on child pornography, even when the site was alerted to the presence of the objectionable photos.

In a statement, the company said, "We are working closely and cooperatively with Attorney General Cuomo's office and hope to resolve this quickly in the best interest of our members' safety. At Tagged, we strive constantly to improve our program to keep illegal content out and prevent unlawful contact between adults and minors on our site. The safety of our members is a top priority."
