An Academy Award-winning songwriter might be singing the blues if he cannot come up with $3 million this week.
"You Light Up My Life" songwriter Joseph Brooks has to post $3 million bail or $1.5 million in cash by January 29 if he wants to stay out of jail.
Brooks is accused of sexually assaulting 13 women.
A Manhattan judge increased the songwriter's previous $250,000 bail.
His lawyer says he is not sure if his client can produce the money.
The bail boost came after prosecutors upped the charges against Brooks.
The 71-year-old pleaded not guilty to charges that he lured victims by offering them auditions for movie roles.
He faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
