Charges have been dropped against a Bronx man accused of sparking a police-involved shooting by letting his pit bull loose.
Police say plainclothes officers conducting an undercover narcotics investigation chased Louis Miranda, 22, and three other suspects into a basement apartment on Davidson Avenue in University Heights last week.
They say Miranda released a pit bill, which charged at the officers – prompting one of the officers to shoot.
The bullet instead ricocheted off the wall, causing fragments from the bullet to hit one detective in the face and another in the leg.
Neither sustained serious injuries.
Miranda was arrested on reckless endangerment and weapons charges.
