A new food court in Battery Park City not only offers gourmet eats, but also spectacular views of the Hudson. Zagat editor Kelly Dobkin filed the following report.

Hudson Eats in Brookfield Place is a new gourmet food court offering 14 exciting new options in Battery Park City.

The first food offering to open within the massive Brookfield Place development in Battery Park City, Hudson Eats is a 30,000 square foot food court designed by AvroKO, seating up to 600 and offering killer views of the Hudson.

"We purposely put Hudson Eats in this location in Brookfield Place because of its view. We really wanted to create a space that was a very elegant place to eat. The food was very important and the architecture is very important. It was all very curated in that sense," says Edward Hogan.

Featuring 14 gourmet food vendors including favorites like Black Seed Bagel, Little Muenster, Umami Burger and Sprinkles Cupcakes, Hudson Eats is a game changing new lunch option for the downtown neighborhood.

"Since we’re in such a populated part of downtown, we knew the volume would be high. So we had to find that creative chef that could also handle high volume," Hogan says.

Popular East Village and Smorgabsurg BBQ shop Mighty Quinn’s is another featured vendor within Hudson Eats.

"Today I set up a small sampler plate for you with some of our wings which are smoked and fried and tossed in a chili lime garlic sauce as well as our brisket which is smoked for 16-22 hours as well as an assortment of piickles and some broccoli salad with buttermlik dressing and bacon," says Hugh Mangum of Mighty Quinn's.

Also featured is Bay Area burrito expert Dos Toros, from brothers Leo and Oliver
Kremer.

"It's the most exciting food court we've ever been to. All of our neighbors are amazing concepts and have amazing food and we're just honored to be in their presence," Leo Kremer says.
