While you are not going to find it on Airbnb, you can actually book an overnight stay at the childhood home of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. NY1's Valarie D'Elia filed the following report.

Many historic homes are turned into sterile museums, cordoned off by ropes and rules. That's not the case for the four bedroom home in Swansea, Wales where Dylan Thomas was born in 1914.

"We want to give that feeling that this is Thomas' house, that we've just sneaked in here through the back door.  People can stay here, they can look in the cupboards, look in the drawers," says Dylan Thomas House Restorer Geoff Haden.

Visitors can get a feel for how Thomas' upbringing and neighborhood influenced his poetry.

"I think the key thing about this house is that it is where he wrote two-thirds of his published work.  And that's an enormous amount of work considering he lived here until he was 23," says Haden.

Sleep in young Dylan’s bedroom, designed to look much the same as it did when the burgeoning poet called it a night. Even the view from his parents' bedroom—although much changed today—made it into his prose.

"That's what Dylan was seeing out of that back bedroom, his crawling, sprawling town around the splendidly curving shore," adds Haden.

Dylan’s father’s study was also a source of inspiration for the small boy.

"His father had all the classic authors, traditional poets, encyclopedias, general knowledge books and he did read them, he devoured literature of all sorts," explains Haden.

Depending on the current conversion rate, overnight stays cost around $250 per night for two, with continental breakfast. Up to five extra guests can stay for about $80 per person.
