If you're suffering from writer's block, you might want to block out some time for a vacation dedicated to getting your writing back on track. NY1's Valarie D'Elia filed the following report.

I have three ways to get your writing back on track.

Working on a book or another artistic endeavor? Need some quiet time to get inspired?

Here are a trio of experiences that just might help you find the right words.

Writing these days more often than not includes a hashtag, so it follows that one of the most talked about writer’s residencies is all the rage on Twitter.

Amtrak is choosing 24 writers between now and next April to ride and write on one of their long-distance trains.

#AmtrakResidency is a free two-to-five-day program providing a private sleeper car with a desk, a bed and a window to ponder the American countryside as it rolls by.

Both emerging and established writers are being considered and are expected to share their experience through their social media outlets.

Whether they pick you or not, Amtrak keeps all rights to your application which includes a writing sample.

The Writer’s Room at The Betsy Hotel in South Beach is another opportunity for wordsmiths to engage in their craft.

Residencies at The Betsy are typically three nights, midweek and are dog-friendly.

In exchange for the free room, writers are asked to post on the hotel’s blog and publicly discuss their work at a hotel presentation.

A per diem of up to $50 is available for those who can prove financial need. For more information, go to

The beauty of the Catskill Mountains has always been stimulating to writers and artists alike.

Gather your thoughts as you hike along the Hudson River School Art trail a couple of hours from Manhattan.

Take in the views that inspired America’s first great landscape painters and give yourself some space to visualize your next dream project.
