Gamers can continue their love of some of this season's hot movies through their video game companions. NY1's Adam Balkin filed the following report.

If the release of the new movie "The Hobbit" has you once again pining for the one true ring, then you're in luck because Lego: Lord of the Rings the video game will keep you plenty occupied by and immersed in Middle Earth.

Hailed by some video game critics as the Lego title yet, which is saying something, the game game allows you to not only play through just about every key scene you can think of from all three Lord of the Rings movies, the game uses dialogue taken right from the movies, unlike other Lego games. Plus, once you play the story mode, you'll be able to roam freely through all of Middle-earth, from the Shire all the way to Mount Doom.

Lego Lord of the Rings is out for all the major consoles and handhelds, plus PCs, for between $30-$50.

If this holiday season, the little ones have a renewed interest in not just Santa but also Jack Frost, Sandman, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy, then chances are you saw the just-released Rise of the Guardians movie.

In the video game based on the movie, you get to play as all those characters as you take on Pitch, the bad guy trying to invade dreams and make people forget about our heroes and their legends. You have to defeat Pitch in all of the Guardian Realms from the movie, from Tooth's Palace all the way to the North Pole.

Rise of the Guardians the video game is also out on all the major consoles plus the Nintendo DS and 3DS for between $30-$40.
