NY1 VIDEO: Kenny Wayne Shepherd added some blues to the Blue Note Jazz Festival at BB Kings in Manhattan on Saturday night. It’s been almost 20 years since an 18-year-old Shepherd established himself as a formidable player with his debut Ledbetter Heights. Now with Stevie Ray Vaughan’s old cohort Chris Layton on drums and Tony Franklin, formerly of The Firm, on bass, the seasoned Shepherd tore into songs from his latest disc, a covers collection called Going Home recorded in his hometown of Shreveport Louisiana.
