Some soulful jazz is headed to Broadway.
Artists from the new revue "After Midnight" appeared at the Time Warner Center to discuss the project.
The musical features the Jazz at Lincoln Center All Stars, a group of 17 musicians hand-picked by jazz master Wynton Marsalis.
The revue will highlight the music of Duke Ellington and poetry by Langston Hughes.
Grammy Award winner Fantasia, actor Dulé Hill and Tony Award winner Adriane Lenox are set to headline the show.
"Jazz is like a different language, but it speaks to so many people in such a beautiful way, through the musicians, through the artists, the lyrics," Fantasia said. "So for me, it's an honor."
"After Midnight" begins previews at The Brooks Atkinson Theatre on Broadway on October 18.
Opening night is set for November 3.
