An upcoming week can allow you to de-stress without putting your wallet in distress. NY1's Jill Urban filed the following report.
It has been a long winter, and if you are looking for a little spring break, Spa Week may be the answer.
Just like Restaurant Week offers fine meals at a discount, Spa Week offers a taste of relaxation for less.
"Spa Week is a national event that takes place across the country where hundreds of spas offer two or three exclusive spa treatments for just $50 each," says Kelly Verdi of Spa Week Media Group.
Yes, from April 21-27, Spa Week will afford consumers who may not normally have the budget for spa services the opportunity to step back and relax, and it gives regular spagoers the chance to explore new treatments.
"Consumers can receive anything from massages to facials, hair services, nail services. They can even try medical services like Botox and lip plumping, more glam treatments like eyelash extensions," Verdi says. "We really run the gamut on the types of things you can get."
The idea behind Spa Week is simply to promote wellness and to remind people that taking time out to de-stress is good for your health.
"Studies show now that more people go to the spa as a necessity and not necessarily a luxury," Verdi says. "Treatments, like massage especially, do have proven health benefits, and an event like spa week really does help spread the message of why incorporating wellness into your life is so important."
Again, Spa Week will be held from April 21-27, but reservations can be made now.
Appointments are limited, but some spas will extend the offer to help meet the demand. Just log on to spaweek.com to find participating spas near you and to locate specific treatments.
We should note that gratuity is not included in the $50, but it is customary to tip on the full cost of the treatment.
So if you've reached your pressure point, Spa Week may be the perfect way to let off a little steam for less.
