Fashion Week may be over, but the styles will soon be in stores. NY1's Stephanie Simon filed the following report.

Fashion Week is hard: Nonstop shows, styles and celebrities. But the looks are soft. The styles we're seeing for spring 2014 are soft and romantic.

NY1 caught up with stylist George Brescia backstage at Fashion Week to give us his style forecast for spring.

"Everything is softer so what we saw last season was a little bit harder, a little bit edgier, it's come back in a softer version. So it's really beautiful really feminine and I think the key word is pretty," says Brescia. "We're seeing some softer colors in lavenders, we're seeing some corals but we're still seeing black and white which I think is kind of cool. We are still seeing cut outs, a lot of body conscious but it's a very romantic season."

As for the must haves, Brescia says it should all flow.

"I think it's a beautiful soft suit, you have to have a beautiful, long flowing skirt. I think it's a beautiful romantic soft, silky top. Everything is just soft and elegant. A beautiful print that works for you and just the colors that really make your skin and hair and eyes amazing," says Brescia.

The trends for hair and makeup are also softer and more natural. And when it comes to those romantic looks for spring the best tip is to make it your own.

"So even though everything is soft and feminine and romantic you still, if you want to be edgy and sexy, take your moment and just really express yourself. And that really is a sign of style and true fashion in my mind," adds Brescia.

So even though the metallics from last season season seem to be fading it's important to add your own sparkle to the latest styles.
