Designer Dennis Basso is known for his furs and luxurious fabrics, and this season, he's celebrating a special milestone. NY1's Jessica Abo filed the following report.

Pop open the champagne. Fashion designer Dennis Basso is celebrating 30 years in business.

"I started in 1983 with a small show at the Regency Hotel on Park Avenue, and grew and worked and had fun along the way," Basso said.

Longtime friend singer Neil Sedaka and his wife Leba were at that show. They said that Basso's big personality and talent make him a hit.

"He said to me years ago, 'Neil, you're in show business. I want to be in show business, too,'" Sedaka said. "I said, 'Be careful of what you wish.' And he's a star."

Come the spring you'll be ready for the red carpet with Basso's Hollywood inspired collection.

"You're going to see short shorts in lace right from that to duchess ball gowns," Basso said.

"You can use it over and over again," said model Carol Alt. "It doesn't go out of style. It's sexy."

While Basso celebrates Hollywood glamour, some of his leading ladies are celebrating him.

"I love his gravelly voice," said TV news anchor and host Hoda Kotb. "I love how he hugs you. I love the irreverent things he says. I'm into him. I am into Dennis Basso. He's a great guy."

"You're a new kid on the block," said model and actor Carmen Dell'Orefice. "Keep going and keep making these wonderful designs for all of us."

"You don't look a day over 18, Dennis," said actor Brooke Shields.
