Broadway theaters dimmed their lights Wednesday evening to honor Robin Williams.

Fans gathered outside the Imperial Theater to watch the lights go dark.

The Academy Award-winning actor may be known best for his standup comedy and work in film, but he did spend some time on the Great White Way. He appeared in a one-man show, as well as "Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo."

Williams committed suicide in his California home.

His publicist said he had been suffering from depression.

He was 63 years old.
