The jazz world is remembering a legend, as renowned pianist and radio host Marian McPartland died of natural causes at her Long Island home on Tuesday night.

With a career lasting more than six decades, McPartland was a fixture in the jazz community, recording more than 50 albums for the Concord Jazz label.

In 1978, she began hosting the Peabody award-winning NPR program, "Piano Jazz."

She was also married to jazz cornet player Jimmy McPartland.

McPartland was 95 years old.
