Broadway dimmed its lights Wednesday in memory of James Gandolfini on the eve of his funeral.

Theater marquees went dark for one minute to honor the actor.

Though he was best known for his role on The Sopranos, Gandolfini also acted on Broadway.

He received a Tony nomination in 2009 for his role in the play "God of Carnage."

Gandolfini died of a heart attack last week.

His funeral will be held at 10 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in Morningside Heights.

The service will be open to the public.
