Friends, family and fans are mourning the loss of television and stage actor Jean Stapleton, who died Friday at her home in the city at age 90.
Stapleton was best known for playing Edith Bunker, the better half of Archie Bunker, on the TV series "All In The Family."
She received an Emmy nomination every year for her eight years on the show and won three times.
The show put Stapleton and co-star Bea Arthur at the forefront of television comedy in the 1970s.
"All In The Family" was the number-one rated show on television for five straight years, winning four consecutive Emmys for outstanding comedy series.
Trained on Broadway, Stapleton was also accomplished in the theater with roles in "Damn Yankees" and "Funny Girl."
