NY1's weekly segment "Your Weekend Starts Now" shows entertaining picks for great things to do this weekend all around the city. NY1's Stephanie Simon filed the following report.

"Rooftop Films"
"Rooftop Films" kicks off it's Summer Series with a slate of short films at Industry City in Sunset Park. Saturday night it's a first look at Obvious Child about an aspiring comedian at a cross roads.  Tickets are $13.

"We The People" Sculpture Display
The public art fund is showcasing the largest display yet of artist Danh Vo's "We The People." Starting this weekend more than 50 pieces of sculptures inspired by the Statue of Liberty will be on view at Brooklyn Bridge Park and City Hall Park.

"Battle Hymn" at the Intrepid
Catch an unusual program Thursday at The Intrepid Museum. The Collegiate Chorale joins forces with the Veteran Artist Program and The Manhattan Girls Chorus for the premier of "Battle Hymn" by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer David Lang. It's an exploration of feelings in times of war. Tickets start at $60.

Jaguar and Wallpaper Magazine Exhibit
As part of Design Week check out a collaboration between Jaguar and Wallpaper Magazine The exhibit at 345 Meatpacking showcases new design works inspired by the British car maker. It's up through the end of the month.

Hot Jazz Festival
This Sunday is the 2nd Annual Hot Jazz Festival featuring 12 hours of upbeat feel good music at The Players Club starting at 1 p.m. Tickets start at $35 for the half-day pass.

"17 Orchard Point"
Just another week left to see the dark comedy "17 Orchard Point" starring Tony Winner Michelle Pawk. It's about family and what it means to have baggage. It's at the Beckett Theatre on 42nd street. Tickets are $45.

Kate Baldwin at 54 Below
Kate Baldwin is always a big fish in the world of Broadway musicals. Thursday through Saturday see her first solo concert in several years at 54 Below. Admission starts at $45.

4th Annual LIC Arts Open Festival
Enjoy more than 250 artists, photographers, sculptors, musicians, dancers and more now through Sunday. It's all free! And Free shuttle bus service.

Elisa Monte Dance presents its 33rd Season at Ailey Citigroup Theater May 15-17. The performances include three new works.
