Ai Weiwei Exhibit at Brooklyn Museum
First up at Brooklyn Museum a new exhibit on chinese artist and dissident Ai Weiwei opens Friday. The Chinese government has revoked Ai Weiwei's passport, so he is unable to travel, but visitors can explore his artwork about freedom and culture.
Take me out the the...art gallery. See an exhibition called The Stadium. It's Yankee stadium photographs by Jon Plasse at BOSI Contemporary gallery on the Lower East Side. It's up through this weekend.
Jim Campbell at Bryce Wolkowitz Gallery
You won't want to miss this stellar exhibit of light works by artist Jim Campbell at Bryce Wolkowitz Gallery in Chelsea. It's a showcase of his newest works. It's up through Saturday.
Ballet Hispanico at the Joyce Theater
Ballet Hispanico performs now through April 27 at the Joyce Theater. The moves and the music are always a serious crowd pleaser. Tickets start at $10.
Grand Central Centennial Quilts
Last year we told you about a contest at The City Quilter for quilters to create new works in honor of Grand Central Terminal's Centennial. Well now the best of the submissions are on view at the New York Transit Museum Gallery inside Grand Central. They really need to be seen in person to be fully appreciated!
BB King at the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts
Saturday night, legendary blues man BB King plays one night only at the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets start at $55.
"Emergence" from Eryc Taylor Dance
Lastly, looking ahead to Tuesday night, Eryc Taylor Dance presents an evening of new choreography by emerging artists. It's at Baruch College. Tickets are $25.
