If you're looking to get creative with your gifts this holiday season but aren't necessarily creative or crafty yourself, a unique hand-crafted item may be the perfect gift. NY1's Stephanie Simon filed the following report.

They're the gift ideas that won't be on any top 10 lists or roundups of most popular presents, but at Artists and Fleas in Chelsea and in Williamsburg, the focus is one unique and one-of-a-kind items, such as statement pieces by Brooklyn jewelry designer Andrea Bocchio.

"They are all made with traditional textile technique, so they're crocheted or woven," Bocchio says. "Everything is made here in New York. I bring a lot of my materials from Peru here as well."

With her holiday discount, everything is less than $80.

Lower East Side resident Andrew Chung designs stylish socks with the guys in mind. The cost? $10.

"We really want to introduce colors to men, and we want to do something fun," Chung says. "For example, this one is inspired by number two pencils."

Ronen Glimer founded Artists and Fleas with his wife 10 years ago as a place for New York artists, artisans and designers to showcase their wares.

"There's something here for everyone," he says. "There's price points from $10 to $500, and there's an opportunity to find something that has a story and to make it your own."

You can find vintage clothing, fine jewelry, original New York City-inspired artwork, even art you make yourself with chalkboard shirts that start at $25.

Vendors say that one-of-a-kind items are much less likely to be rejected, re-gifted or returned.

Some other great places for unique finds:

#&149; SoHarlem in the Mink Building at 126th Street offers beautiful handmade accessories and decorative items.

#&149; Get "Girl with a Pearl Earring" earrings at the Frick Collection. The pair, inspired by the painting, costs $50.

#&149; At Divine Details at the AIGA Gallery at Fifth Avenue and 21st Street is a line of well-designed products. Each comes with an original fictional story by a New York writer inspired by the piece.

Hopefully, the only thing returning is you, to do more shopping.
