NY1's weekly segment "Your Weekend Starts Now" shows entertaining picks for great things to do this weekend all around the city. NY1's Stephanie Simon filed the following report.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater
First up, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater is back at City Center now through January 5. This is must-see dance with a combination of classic offerings and new modern masterpieces. Tickets start at just $25.

Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Baroque Festival
The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center kicks off its Baroque Festival Friday night at Alice Tully Hall. Because of chamber music's small scale and intimate nature its often referred to as the music of friends. The festival runs through December 17. Tickets start at $45.

Hanukkah Bash at Brookfield Place
Tonight enjoy a free Hanukkah bash at Brookfield Place (formerly The World Financial Center) at 7:30 p.m. Check out some of the bands from the old JDUB Records, including The Sway Machinery.

Gail Archer Concerts
Concert organist Gail Archer is performing two beautiful concerts in the city. Saturday night at 8 p.m., she'll perform the Annual Candlelight Concert with the Barnard-Columbia Chorus at Ascenscion Church on 107th Street. On December 16, she's performing at Avery Fisher Hall.

Mr. TOL E. RAncE.
Camille A. Brown’s 2013 Mr. TOL E. RAncE. is being performed Friday and Saturday night at the Kumble Theater for the Performing Arts at LIU's Brooklyn campus. This work combines comedy, live animation, theater and explosive dance. Tickets start at $15.

Anna von Hausswolff
There are two chances to enjoy Swedish singer/songwriter pianist Anna von Hausswolff. She's performing at Brooklyn's Union Hall on Friday night at and Mercury Lounge Saturday night on the Lower East Side. Tickets are around $10 for each show.

John Lennon Tribute
The 33rd Annual John Lennon Tribute takes place on December 6 at Symphony Space in NYC.

Regina M. Tate Gallery Talk
Visual artist Regina M. Tate holds a gallery talk at Harlem NYPL as part of the Dancing on Paper exhibit on Saturday, December 7 at 2:30 p.m. The library is located at 9 West 124th Street in Manhattan. For library hours and information, call (212) 348-5620.

Free Holiday Concert at Brookfield Place
