They may have gotten a few boos at the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night, but it was nothing but cheers for boy band One Direction at their movie premiere in Manhattan Monday. NY1's Stephanie Simon gave us a look as the new film, which opens Friday.

"One thing" you can say about One Direction fans: they're dedicated. Screaming fans lined the street outside the Ziegfeld Theater Monday as Louis, Niall, Zayn, Liam, and Harry walked the red carpet for the premier of "This Is Us."

"Hopefully, they get to see, you know, our relationships within the group, who plays which role in the band, and just what we get up to in our spare time and why we're here in the first place," says Zayn Malik of One Direction.

"This Is Us" recaps their meteoric rise from almost getting tossed off Britain's "The X Factor" to global teen heartthrob phenomenon, with hits including "One Thing," "What Makes You Beautiful," "Live While We're Young" and their latest hit, "Best Song Ever."

"I don't think you've ever had so much access to a band who are as big as this as you've ever seen," said music video director Ben Winston. "We go home with their families. We see them backstage in dressing rooms. We see them on tour buses."

Of course, One Direction fans go by many nicknames: One Ders, One Directioners, Directioners and one, of course, my favorite, "the future Mrs. Harry Stiles."

"That would definitely be me," said one fan.

When asked who her favorite band member was, one fan said "Zayn, because he's perfect and I can't believe he just walked by."

Q: How do you refer to your fans?
Malik: We just call them fans, yeah.
Q: Not One Direction, One Directioners, One Ders, One D?
Malik: Nah, I don't call them that. I just call them fans. Is that bad?
Q: No, that's great, and they love you. How does that feel?
Malik: That feels amazing.

So, the fans love them, they love their fans and each other.

For those of you in the know, do I even have to say, seeing the band in person at their film premiere makes this "the best night ever."
