NY1's weekly segment "Your Weekend Starts Now" shows entertaining picks for great things to do this weekend all around the city. NY1's Stephanie Simon filed the following report.

Donna McKechnie at 54 Below
If you missed new year's eve in times square you can still celebrate 2013 in the neighborhood. Tonight through Sunday the singular sensation of Donna McKechnie takes the stage at 54 Below. She won the Tony Award for her role as Cassie in "A Chorus Line" back in 1976. Her new show is called "Same Place: Another Time." A cover charge starts at $30.

Food and Laughter are the Best Medicine!
This Saturday, veg out with some great vegan comedy at Gotham Comedy Club. See Eddie Brill, Colin Quinn and others combine raw food, wheat grass, instruction on plant-based eating and standup comedy. They say "Food and Laughter are the Best Medicine!" The event is Saturday at 1 p.m. Tickets are $15.

Abby Lee Miller at One Step Ahead Dance Studio
Sunday, release your inner child star for a good cause. Abby Lee Miller from Lifetime TV's "Dance Moms" is bringing her famous legs and feet class to the Staten Island Hilton Garden Hotel, along with some of her young co-stars, for dance class to help raise money for Hurricane Sandy relief. The cost is $100 dollars for dancers and $40 for observers. Classes are at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Arturo O'Farrill Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra
Sunday night check Arturo O'Farrill and the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra at Birdland. It's always a great time when Arturo and the band play here. A cover charge is $30. Showtime is at 9 p.m. and 11 p.m.

The Jam: Tributes
And check out Daniel J. Watts Monday night at The Canal Room. His show is called "The Jam: Tributes", and he is paying tribute to some of the many people and places that have inspired him, including New York City, Michael Jackson and more.
