NY1's weekly segment "Your Weekend Starts Now" shows entertaining picks for great things to do this weekend all around the city. NY1's Arts reporter Stephanie Simon filed the following report.

50th New York Festival
The 50th New York Film Festival begins Friday and runs through October 14. Among the many exciting offerings is a screening of "Snow White" on Saturday, to celebrate the Disney classic's 75th anniversary. There is a range of prices for individual tickets and passes. "Snow White" is just $10 at the Walter Reade Theater on Saturday morning and that includes a sneak peak of Disney's newest animated short, "Paperman."

DUMBO Arts Festival
Friday through Sunday, the DUMBO Arts Festival fills the Brooklyn neighborhood of the same name with art, music and live performances. Check out work by 500 artists with performances out on the street on stage and inside studios and galleries. All of the offerings are free.

Bollywood Dance Workshops with Saroj Khan

Want to star in your own performance? This weekend, learn from Bollywood's star choreographer Saroj Khan. The new Institute Of Bollywood Dance And Film is presenting her dance workshops at Dance New Amsterdam downtown. Tickets start at $85.

Jazz At Lincoln Center: James Cotton
On Friday and Saturday night, blues legend James Cotton and his harmonica hit the Allen Room at Jazz At Lincoln Center. The concert kicks off JALC’s Blues Series this season, which explores the roots of jazz. Tickets start at $55.

Lower Manhattan Cultural Council's Open Studio Weekend
