NY1 highlights the coolest and newest apps for your cell phone or mobile device in the twice-weekly segment "App Wrap." NY1's Adam Balkin filed the following report.
My Talking Pet
If you are a pet owner, "My Talking Pet" might just be too fun to pass up. You simply take a close-up shot of your dog, cat, hamster or any animal, line up the dots for the eyes, then line up the dots for the mouth. Hit the record button and say whatever it is you'd like your pet to say. Hit stop, and there you go, a talking pet.
You can change the pitch of the voice, and you can in-app purchase some themes like evil mode or Christmas mode. After you're done saving your talking pet, you can then email it around or post it to a social network.
"My Talking Pet" is 99 cents for iOS devices and $2.99 for Androids, but that version comes packaged with three themes.
For several years now, the U.S. Postal Service has allowed you to put your own twist on postage stamps, real stamps that you can have made with your own photo or design. Well now, there's an app call 20Stamps to make the whole process easier to do via your phone.
You just choose a picture, choose a filter and choose what type of stamp you'd like it to be, like first class or postcard. Create pretty much anything you'd like, as long as it isn't obscene or includes a copyrighted image. How much you pay depends on how big your order is.
20Stamps is a free app for iOS devices.
