NY1 highlights the coolest and newest apps for your cell phone or mobile device in the twice-weekly segment "App Wrap." NY1's Adam Balkin filed the following report.

Icycle: On Thin Ice

You are Dennis, a naked man in the snow on a bicycle. That is, if you decide to pick up the soon-to-be-released mobile game "Icycle: On Thin Ice."

Truth be told, you're not totally naked. You do have a hat on. Second truth be told, sometimes you'll get to trade in your bike and instead ride around in a shopping cart or a go-kart.

So, what is bugging Dennis so much that he's rushed out with nothing on willing to ride anything with wheels? Well, he's in search of his long lost love, who you learn in the beginning is actually a snowman, or rather a snowwoman.

The storyline sounds strange, and if you didn't watch the gameplay during the explanation, you could be excused for politely taking a pass. However, so much of this game is how it looks. It's almost as if you're playing through ultra-stylized cutscenes from other video game apps.

"Icycle: On Thin Ice" will initially be available for iOS devices when it goes on sale December 19. Price has not yet been announced.

Feed Me Oil 2

"Feed Me Oil 2" is the second version of a game that brought a bit of a twist, and turn, to those popular physics-based games.

You get a drum of oil that once you open, you have to somehow get from a spout into the mouth of a monster that lives somewhere on the level. You have all sorts of tools to help you do that, including boards to block the oil or fans to help blow it up, around and eventually inside the different obstacles.

The game features four new worlds and around 60 new levels, some that take place under water so you'll have to learn the physics behind how oil and water mix, or, rather, don't mix.

"Feed Me Oil 2" will initially launch on iOS devices in January. There's no price yet on this one, either. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
