London 2012 - Official Mobile Game
If it takes Olympic games of the video sort to get you pumped up about Olympic games - the actual ones now taking place in London - no need to look any further than your mobile device. London 2012 - Official Mobile Game offers up nine Olympic events a few track and field, a few in the pool, and then you get those like shooting and archery. If you're an old school gamer and remember that classic Track and Field arcade game, this one is controlled in very similar ways: Tap as fast as you can to run as fast as you can, swipe down to swim, etcetera. There's a practice mode for working on your form, challenge mode for playing against someone locally, or Olympic mode for representing the country of your choice online against others playing from around the world. If you win you get your national anthem played at the medal ceremony just like at the real games. As so that this one can be played easily around the globe it's available not only in English but also Spanish, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Korean, and Russian. London 2012 - Official Mobile game is available on iOS and Android devices for 99 cents.
Toon Summer Games
For younger kids who want to play along but can't quite tap, swipe, or move the mobile device quick enough to get to the medal stand, there's Toon Summer Games 2012. You compete as a turtle or sheep, cat, koala and every event requires just one or two simple motions to make it work. For example, with pole vault, just pull back on on the sheep and as if he's in a slingshot just let go and see him fly. Swimming just draw a circle around Mr. Turtle and quickly as you can. There are 10 events in there to play. Toon Summer Games is also for both iOS and Android devices and also costs 99 cents.
