1975...A bomb explodes in the baggage claim area of LaGuardia Airport, killing 11 people and injuring more than 70. Several terrorists organizations are suspected, but no arrests are made.

1992...Governor Mario Cuomo commutes the prison sentence of Jean Harris, convicted of killing Scarsdale diet doctor Herman Tarnower in 1980, as Harris is preparing to undergo heart bypass surgery. She ends up serving eleven years in jail.
