1918...New Yorkers jam the streets to celebrate the end of World War I. Revelers parade from City Hall to Columbus Circle, and the Kaiser is hanged in effigy in front of the New York Public Library.
1921...November 11th is declared Armistice Day, a national holiday. It is now called Veterans Day.
