1956...Don Larsen pitches the only perfect game in World Series history as the Yankees beat the Brooklyn Dodgers 2-0 en route to their 17th world title.

1957...A sad day in Brooklyn as Dodger officials announce they have accepted an offer to move the team from New York to Los Angeles.

1961...Yankee pitcher Whitey Ford, facing Cincinnati, sets a World Series record by pitching 32 consecutive scoreless innings before departing in the sixth inning of Game 4 because of a toe injury.
