Some New Yorkers still have no power or housing. Many are without gas. As the clean-up from Sandy continues, we are recognizing those New Yorkers who have gone above and beyond to help their neighbors in need. NY1's John Schiumo filed the following report.

It's been more than a week since Sandy struck our city, but she hasn't kept you down.
You continue to answer calls for help, with a flashlight or a bark.

You've fueled recovery efforts by distributing meals, easing hungry stomachs and worried minds.

You waded through waters, pumping out homes and raising hopes.

When the nights closed in, you provided warmth and a place to dream of a brighter future.

There's still a long way to go, but we have a feeling you'll be there through it all. That's why you, residents and volunteers, continue to be our New Yorkers of the Week.
