A Queens driver finally got a wrongful parking ticket withdrawn by authorities after he turned to NY1 For You for help. NY1's Susan Jhun filed the following NY1 For You report.

Payback is a relief for Alfredo Louk, who says the city owed him for issuing an unfair ticket.

Three months ago, NY1 first reported about the parking ticket Louk received in Flushing, Queens for not displaying a Muni-Meter receipt in his window, even though he was parked at a coin-fed meter.

It's a fact that Louk says did not escape the police officer who wrote the ticket.

"He said, 'Well sorry, you could go and appeal, but I cannot destroy the ticket because the ticket has been issued already,'" says Louk.

Frustrated, Louk sent pictures and paperwork to fight the ticket but surprisingly had his claim denied for lack of evidence. Louk appealed the case but the city upheld the ticket.

After Louk called NY1 For You, the station called the Department of Finance and a spokesman said the department would look into the situation.

After three months of hounding DOF, NY1 finally got the agency, along with the police department, to withdraw Louk's ticket.

"Thanks to you guys, I got a check back," says Louk.

He says it's not the $35 he cares about, but the principle of the matter.

"I have no problem to pay something if I actually did it," Louk says.

It's a distinction Louk says was lost on the city.
