NY1 For You: Rooster Cries No Longer Trouble Bronx Woman's Sleep

An unusual wake-up call had one Bronx woman sleep-deprived until she called NY1 For You. NY1's Susan Jhun filed the following report. Silence is golden for Bronx resident Tia Smith, who only a week ago endured a rude awakening by a rooster's crowing every morning.
"It's like a forceful alarm clock that you have no control over to turn off," Smith told NY1 at the time.
Smith discovered the rooster's presence after coming back from vacation to find a new henhouse next door.
"The next morning when I woke up, there was a rooster crowing at 4:30 in the morning," she said.
According to city Health Code, it is illegal to have roosters in the city.
NY1 tried to contact the co-op board for the building with the rooster but could not reach anyone for comment.
The station then called The Department of Health and an inspector was sent to the location.
The next day, the rooster and its house were gone, without explanation.
"Now I can get some sleep. Thank you so much," says Smith.
That is truly something to crow about.
