NY1 VIDEO: Summertime is traditionally home improvement time, especially this summer, in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, but unfortunately, according to state officials, that also means there are a lot of scams going on, as unscrupulous contractors try to take advantage all the available work. NY1's Elizabeth Kaledin sat down with Marcos Vigil, deputy secretary of state for consumer protection, who offered tips for how to avoiding getting ripped off.
