The city is setting aside more money to train teachers.
The education department plans to spend about $100 million for training.
That's double the amount the city spent last year.
The increase is meant to better prepare teachers for new state math and reading standards that were introduced in state exams this spring.
The city has spent $125 million so far to train teachers for the new Common Core standards.
