Back to school shopping is in full swing this Labor Day weekend as families get ready for the new school year, as it is the final weekend of summer for city public school students.
Parents were scrambling for Labor Day deals on must-have back-to-school items at the Queens Center Mall on Sunday.
"I'm sort of having a panic attack 'cause school starts in New York, you know, this Thursday so I figured I got to get my butt up and start doing something," said parent Dennis Kellman.
When fifth grader Christian Kellman was asked what he was looking for, he answered, "Basically just clothes. I just don't want to look nerdy."
Classes are back in session at city public schools on Thursday.
