A computer teacher at PS 174 in Queens was arraigned on child sex abuse charges Thursday.

Investigators say Wilbert Cortez, 49, fondled two young male students at PS 174 in Rego Park.

The alleged abuse happened on multiple occasions between September 2010 and June 2011.

Cortez is accused of rubbing the boys' private parts over their clothing, and he faces charges including course of sexual conduct against a child.

Parents were notified about the allegations in a letter before a meeting on Friday.

"I never seen him raise his voice or something. He was very nice with the kids," said one parent.

"I can't believe it because he was such a good teacher, and he taught me basketball, and he taught computers, and no sexually looking at other students in any way, or anything like that,” said a student.

Cortez's next court date is March 19. Bail is set at $50,000.

His arrest came after two other high profile cases involving school employees.

Paraprofessional Gregory Atkins, 56, is accused of molesting a young boy at PS 87, and Taleek Brooks, 40, is facing child porn charges for allegedly filming students at PS 243.
