Bronx Principal Resigns Amid Grade Change Allegations

The city says a school principal who improperly altered students' grades has resigned from a Bronx high school, but will continue to work for the Department of Education.
A DOE report issued Friday says former Herbert H. Lehman High School principal Janet Saraceno changed 30 students' course grades from failing to passing if they passed a Regents exam in the same subject.
Other allegations against Saraceno were dismissed, including claims she gave credit to students for courses they didn't take.
The DOE says she will work as a so-called "achievement coach" and continue earning her principal's salary.
Saraceno will not be eligible for a $25,000 performance bonus.
